Whisner Takes New Position At Denison

Denison University Director of Athletics Nan Carney-DeBord has announced a new appointment within the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation. Lynsey Whisner, the college's current head volleyball coach, will assume the role of a director of club sports, intramurals and student wellness, a new position within the department. Because of the responsibilities and time commitment required for the position, Whisner will step down from her coaching role, and a national search for Denison's next head volleyball coach will begin immediately.

Over the last five years, Whisner has served as the college's assistant director of club sports and intramurals under Lynn Schweizer, the senior associate director of athletics who has overseen Denison's recreation and intramural programs. This spring, Schweizer will be on sabbatical leave, and when she returns in the fall of 2015, she will continue to serve as senior associate director of athletics.
