NCAC Winter Sports Weekly Releases - (2-13-17)

NCAC winter sports weekly releases for the week ending on Sunday, February 12th, which include up-to-date conference standings, weekly schedules, team notes and Player of the Week selections, are now available online.

With just one week left in the North Coast men’s basketball regular season, Ohio Wesleyan (14-2, 17-6) has grabbed sole possession of first-place in the league standings following a pair of wins against Hiram (7-9, 10-13) and Wooster (13-3, 16-7). There are several marquee matchups on the schedule this week that will have a direct impact on the seeds for the 2017 NCAC Men’s Basketball Tournament, highlighted by Wittenberg (11-5, 17-6) hosting OWU on Wednesday night and Wooster hosting Wittenberg on Saturday evening. Complete Release

DePauw (14-1, 22-2) captured the NCAC championship and the No. 1 seed for the 2017 NCAC Women’s Basketball Tournament last week. It marks the fifth time in the last six year the Tigers have earned the top spot in the conference tournament. Denison successfully swept the team titles at the 2017 NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships for the eighth time in the last nine years on Saturday night at the Trumbull Aquatics Center on the campus of Denison University. The Ohio-based NCAC track & field squads competed at Otterbein last Saturday for the annual All-Ohio Championships, while DePauw hosted Wabash and 11 other institutions for the DePauw Invitational.
