2017-18 CoSIDA Division III At-Large Academic All-America Teams

Led by Kenyon senior swimmer Julia Wilson (Bethesda, MD/Sidwell Friends) being named the 2017-18 Division III Women's At-Large All-American of the Year, seven total NCAC athletes were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Google Cloud Men's & Women's Academic All-America At-Large Team, it was announced on Tuesday, June 12th.

A breaststroke specialist, Wilson was a four-time NCAA Championship qualifier and won her first national title this past season as a part of the Ladies' 400-meter medley relay team. She earned All-America honors in all five events she swam in at this year's championship meet, which brought her career total to 16 for her career.

A 2018 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient and a two-time Academic All-America® first-team honoree, Wilson holds both the Kenyon and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) records for the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events. She was a 2016 Olympic Trials qualifier.

Wilson was joined on the 2017-18 CoSIDA/Google Cloud Women's Academic All-America At-Large team by four additional athletes from the NCAC. Three of those athletes were second-team selections, including DePauw sophomore golfer Anna Foley (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/Humberside Collegiate Inst.), Denison sophomore swimmer KT Kustritz (St. Paul, MN/Insight School) and Kenyon junior swimmer Abby Wilson (Westerville, OH/Columbus Academy), while Kenyon junior swimmer Hannah Orbach-Mandel (Tucson, AZ/Catalina Foothills) rounded out the list as a third-team honoree.

On the men's side, both athletes selected from the NCAC were Denison senior swimmers that landed on the top team, including Ben Burdick (Carmel, IN/Carmel) and Jason Wesseling (Hudsonville, MI/Jenison). Wesseling elevated to the top team in his senior season after earning second-team laurels in both 2016 and '17.

The Division III Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 Division III Academic All-America® teams.
