Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week – Dontae Williams, Wooster
Sophomore Dontae Williams (Girard, Pa./Girard) made an immediate impact to the No. 21-ranked Wooster’s lineup with a team-high 22 points in his Fighting Scots’ debut. The forward followed that up with a second straight 20-point effort against Mount St. Joseph, and was just as impressive in other facets of the game with 15 rebounds and eight assists during Wooster’s two wins last week.
Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week – Paige Matijasich, Kenyon
Kenyon junior Paige Matijasich (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) averaged a double-double in three victories for the Ladies last week. Matijasich began the week with an 18-point, 10-rebound performance in an 87-66 victory over Wooster. She then followed that up with a 20-point, 12-rebound effort against Grove City. She finished the week with 12 points and nine rebounds in a 65-57 victory over Wilmington.
Men’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week – Luis Weekes, Kenyon
Kenyon freshman Luis Weekes (St. Thomas, Barbados/Baylor School) won four individual events, two relay events and set meet records in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard individual medley at the Malone Invitational. In the 100 butterfly, Weekes touched in a winning time of 50.25 seconds while grabbing a 100 IM victory in 52.92 seconds. Kenyon finished first out of five schools at the invitational which included three NCAA Division II schools.
Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week – Anna Verardi, Allegheny
Allegheny sophomore Anna Verardi (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) registered a pair of victories in the Malone Invitational last week. She recorded season-best times in both her 200 backstroke (2:08.58) and 50 freestyle (24.94) victories. Allegheny placed first out of six teams at the invitational which included four NCAA Division II schools.
NCAC Milestones & Records (Nov. 12 - Nov. 18)
DePauw, Men’s Basketball - DePauw’s 91.3 scoring average through the first three games is the highest over that span in the Tigers’ 115 seasons of basketball.
Wabash, Swimming & Diving - Aaron Embree (Springville, Ind./Bedford North Lawrence) broke his own school record on the the one-meter board Saturday while competing in the 2018 Wabash Swimming and Diving Invitational. The senior produced a score of 482.55 over the course of 11 dives to eclipse his previous record of 465.90.
