Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week – Jack Davidson, Wabash
Jack Davidson (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) averaged 25 points over the course of six games to guide the Little Giants to a 5-1 record and remain unbeaten in NCAC play. Davidson scored a career-best 36 points against Wilmington (Ohio) which included a 17-of-18 performance from the free throw line. He posted a 22-points-per-game average in three conference wins against Hiram (102-61), Allegheny (108-65), and Oberlin (86-50). Davidson shot 55.4 percent from the field (41-of-74) and 46.7 percent from three-point range (14-of-30) during the six-game stretch.
Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week – Maya Howard, DePauw
DePauw senior Maya Howard (St. Louis, Mo./MICDS) helped the Tigers post a 6-1 record since Dec. 20, including a 3-0 record in NCAC play. Howard posted three 20+ point efforts, including 26 points, four rebounds and three assists against Hiram and 21 points and four assists against Wooster. Howard averaged 16.6 points, 3.7 assists and 3.0 rebounds across the seven games and was named to the Amy Hasbrook Memorial All-Tournament team on Dec. 29.
NCAC Milestones & Records (Dec. 17 - Jan. 6)
Wabash, Men’s Basketball - Wabash is 6-0 to start the 2018-2019 NCAC portion of its schedule, matching the best start to the conference season by a Little Giants basketball team since joining the league in 1999-2000. The Little Giants opened their inaugural season with a 6-0 mark on the way to a 13-3 conference record and 20-7 overall mark.
