CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Football Team for Division III was released on Thursday, Nov. 15, and the North Coast Athletic Conferenc (NCAC) was represented by five student-athletes, Denison’s David Weimer (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central), Andrew Zellers (Hartville, Ohio/St. Thomas Aquinas) and Ben Cross (Leesburg, Va./Flint Hill), DePauw’s Nate Orrison (Wheaton, Ill./Glenbard West) and Wittenberg’s Donald Hefelfinger (Mason, Ohio/Mason).
Weimer owns a 3.82 GPA as a Biochemistry major at Denison. In his senior season, he's produced 654 yards receiving and nine touchdowns as a starting wide receiver for the Big Red. Throughout his career in Granville, he has amassed 2,142 yards and 22 touchdowns in 35 games.
Cross is a junior defensive lineman that also owns a 3.90 GPA as a Philosophy, Political & Economics major at Denison. On the football field, Cross has 24 tackles this season, including 4.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss.
Zellers is a junior offensive lineman for the Big Red, also posting a 3.76 GPA as an Economics major. He has helped the Denison offense to a conference-best 43.7 points per game average this season.
DePauw's Orrison is a senior defensive lineman who also owns a 3.76 GPA as an Economics major. He logged 44 tackles in 2018, 17.5 for loss. Orrison also got to the quarterback for 11.5 sacks. He finished his career with 105 tackles, 50.5 tackles for loss and 36 sacks in a Tigers uniform.
Hefelfinger produced a 3.94 GPA as a Biology major at Wittenberg. As a defensive lineman, Hefelfinger notched 38 tackles in 2018, including 2.5 for loss and one sack.
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Football Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
