Oberlin's Smith Named United Soccer Coaches Women's Soccer Player of the Week

Kansas City, MO – Oberlin College first-year goalie Isabelle Smith was named the United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week, the league association announced Tuesday afternoon. 
 
A native of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Smith has been impressive since entering the lineup five matches ago, helping the Yeowomen post a 3-2 record. 
 
This past week she registered a pair of shutout victories, as the Yeowomen blanked Geneva College, 2-0, before finishing off their six-match road trip with a 1-0 win at Marietta College on Saturday. Smith made five stops against the Golden Tornadoes and added four more against the Pioneers. 

In her five games played thus far, she has made 29 saves after Tuesday's game versus Ohio Northern while recording a goals against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .853.
 
Smith and the rest of the Yeowomen open conference play on Saturday when they face the Ohio Wesleyan University Battling Bishops. The kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
