CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Volleyball Team was released on Thursday, Nov. 15. Wittenberg’s Karen Wildemann (Columbus, Ind./North) and DePauw’s Suzanne Peters (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) were both recognized as first-team members.
Peters earned first-team honors after registering a 3.81 GPA as a kinesiology major. She also helped lead the Tigers to the second round of the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament for the first time since 2016. Peters was also named to the AVCA All-America Third Team, All-Great Lakes Region and garnered All-NCAC honors.
Wildemann was tabbed to the first team after compiling a 4.0 as a biology and finance major. She helped guide the Tigers to the NCAA Regional Finals this season, compiling 893 assists (9.92 assists/set) along the way. Wildemann also earned AVCA All-America Second-Team honors, All-Great Lakes Region and All-NCAC recognition.
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
