Wooster's Reid Chosen for NCAA Pathway Program

The NCAA leadership development office, in partnership with the Board of Governors Committee to Promote Cultural Diversity and Equity, has invited 22 senior administrators, including Wooster Assistant Athletics Director for Diversity, Inclusion, Compliance and Internal Management/Senior Woman Administrator, Ashley Reid, to participate in the NCAA Pathway Program during the 2019-20 academic year.

The NCAA Pathway Program has a focused goal of preparing individuals to excel as directors of athletics or conference commissioners. Participants engage in a series of experiential learning opportunities designed on advancing them to the top role in an athletics department or conference. This includes how to thrive in the ever-evolving intercollegiate athletics landscape.

At Wooster, Reid has transitioned from full-time coach to the school's first Assistant Athletic Director for Diversity and Inclusion, while also serving as the Senior Woman Administrator. Since moving into her administrative role, Reid's duties have expanded to also include compliance and internal management, while continuing to serve as a liaison between athletics and other campus offices on matters of diversity and inclusion. In addition, Reid serves as the SAAC advisor.

Over the past 22 years, the highly acclaimed Pathway Program (formerly the Fellows Program) has produced more than 100 alumni. Nearly 25 percent of the participants have become directors of athletics, while more than 60 percent received promotions in their careers.
