NCAC NAMES FETCHIET BASEBALL SUPERVISOR

CLEVELAND -- Rich Fetchiet has been named North Coast Athletic Conference Supervisor of Baseball Umpires, announced NCAC Executive Director Dennis Collins.

Fetchiet, who also serves as the Big Ten Conference Supervisor of Umpires, has connections to outstanding collegiate umpires in the three-state area of Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania, where the 10 NCAC member colleges are located, according to Collins.

Fetchiet brings 30 years of on-field collegiate umpiring and supervisory experience to the position, which is effective immediately. He stepped off the field in 2001 after a long, successful career that included regular assignments to major conference tournaments, NCAA regional tournaments and the College World Series. He also served as an umpire at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

The North Coast Athletic Conference, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, was founded in 1983 and began competition in the fall of 1984. The North Coast’s commitment to equity, its broad base of athletic programs and an unwavering insistence on excellence in academics has served as a model for conferences throughout the country.
