The 2019 ABCA/Rawlings Mideast All-Region team was announced on Tuesday, May 28, and 11 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) athletes were named to the team. Additionally, Wooster’s Dan Harwood (Brecksville, OH/Brecksville-Broadview Hts) and Harry Witwer-Dukes (Monmouth, OR/Blanchet Catholic) were named to the D3baseball.com All-America team on Tuesday.
On the All-Region first team was Denison junior first baseman Will Krushena (Bloomfield Hills, MI/Detroit Country Day) and junior third baseman Brian McAuliffe (Tuckahoe, NY/Fordham Prep). Wooster senior designated hitter Dan Harwood and junior second baseman Harry Witwer-Dukes joined the Denison with a pair of honorees. Kenyon junior outfielder Patrick O’Leary (Killingworth, CT/Choate) was also named to the Mideast first team.
The All-Region second team consisted of Wooster senior first baseman Garrett Crum (Alliance, OH/Canton South) and senior shortstop Jacob Stuursma (Hudson, OH/Hudson), while Denison sophomore shortstop Max Lahn (Charlotte, NC/Providence Day School) and Oberlin senior catcher Brendan Mapes (Mount Vernon, OH/Centerburg) were also tabbed to the second team.
Denison sophomore outfielder Ty Robinson (Hoover, AL/Hoover) and Wooster senior utility player Chandler Dippman (Waterville, OH/St. John’s Jesuit) rounded out the field of honorees with third-team accolades.
Harwood and Witwer-Dukes were also tabbed with D3baseball.com All-America honors. Harwood landed on the first team while Witwer-Dukes received second team honors.
ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first-team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-Americans will be announced the evening of Thursday, May 30. The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced Wednesday, June 19.
