D3football.com Team of the Week (Oct. 27-28
Wooster sophomore Nick Strausbaugh's (Fredericksburg, OH/Waynedale) big day in the 51-41 win over Kenyon College on Saturday afternoon parlayed into a spot on D3football.com's Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, as announced by the website on Tuesday morning. Strausbaugh's honor marks the third-straight week Wooster's had an honoree on the team.
In Saturday's win, Strausbaugh turned eight receptions into 212 yards and four touchdowns – all before halftime. The four touchdowns tied Wooster's single-game program record and bumped Strausbaugh up to 13 for the year, a total tied with Darrian Owens for the most in the single-season program annals. During the game, Strausbaugh surpassed 1,000 yards for the season and joined former Wooster great Richie McNally as the lone student-athletes in program history with 1,000-yard seasons.
Notable, the 212 yards rate as the second-most in a game in program history, and it marked the sixth time in eight games Strausbaugh's surpassed the century mark. He's now logged a touchdown in seven games on the year, including four multi-touchdown games.
Noteworthy, Strausbaugh currently ranks third in Div. III in yards (1,031) and touchdowns.
