D3football.com Team of the Week (Nov. 10-11)

In the final week of the 2017 football regular season, two more NCAC student-athletes were named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for their stellar outings in a pair of games last Saturday, November 11th, including Oberlin sophomore QB Zach Taylor (Artesia, CA/Buena Park) and Ohio Wesleyan freshman defensive end Kor'Darius Melton (Warner Robins, GA/Houston County).

Taylor accounted for seven touchdowns in the Yeomen's season-ending 63-37 win over Allegheny last Saturday. He completed 20-of-31 pass attempts for a career-best 434 yards, which ranks third in school history. Taylor matched Willie Martinez's 1974 record of six touchdown passes in a game. Four of his TDs went to junior wide out Ryan Gleeson (Seattle, WA/Roosevelt), who tied Jay Greeley for the school record as he was on the receiving end of four of Martinez's TD tosses in a 69-0 win over the University of Chicago. Taylor also did plenty of damage on the ground as he rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown. He ended the afternoon with a school record total of 550 yards of total offense, passing Lucas Poggiali's 503 yards he had against the Gators in 2015. As a team, the Yeomen racked up 651 yards, which is second most in program history.

Melton led the Bishops with 14 tackles (9 solo, 5 asst.) in their 24-3 win over Hiram on Saturday.  He recorded 4.0 sacks, tying for third on the Ohio Wesleyan single-game list, 5.0 tackles for loss and forced two fumbles.  Both of his solo sacks resulted in Hiram fumbles, with one of the fumbles returned for an Ohio Wesleyan touchdown. He assisted on third-down sacks to help end Hiram possessions in the second and third quarters, and assisted on two sacks as OWU ended a fourth-quarter Hiram possession with sacks on four consecutive plays.

Throughout the 2017 football season, 11 student-athletes from the NCAC were named to the D3football.com Team of the Week.
