Oberlin senior Devin White (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) and Ohio Wesleyan senior Kyle Hogan (Centerburg, OH/Centerburg) were named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Tuesday Oct. 22.
Oberlin’s White was named to the team as a linebacker, playing a large role in the team’s first shutout victory since 2013, recording two interceptions, forcing a fumble, and posting seven tackles in the Yeomen’s 7-0 win over Hiram. In the third quarter, he thwarted a potential scoring drive by forcing a Hiram fumble at the Oberlin 10-yard line while his first of two fourth-quarter interceptions came deep in Yeomen territory as he stepped in front of a pass at the Oberlin nine-yard line.
Ohio Wesleyan’s Hogan was tabbed to the team as a member of the special teams after blocking two kicks in OWU's 28-13 win against DePauw. His first block came in the first quarter on a field goal attempt and his second came after DePauw had scored on the final play of the first half and he blocked the extra-point try to keep the score at 28-6 heading into the intermission.
The D3football.com Team of the Week is in its 21st season of honoring the top player nationally at each position from the previous week. Hogan and White are the fifth and sixth conference selections for the Team of the Week this season, with Hogan earning the honor for the second time in 2019.
