Kenyon's Breschi Highlights All-Region Selections

NFHCA Div. III All-Region Teams -- NFHCA Div. III Regional Players of the Year

Kenyon junior midfielder Maddie Breschi (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) was named the 2014 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Great Lakes Player of the Year to highlight 19 NCAC players named to the 2014 All-Great Lakes Region Team. 11 NCAC student-athletes were named to the first team, while eight earned second-team laurels.

Breschi, who was also named the 2014 NCAC Defensive Player of the Year, closed out the 2014 season with 34 total points after netting 14 goals and passing out six assists. She was also credited for four game-winning goals and fired off 101 shots in 22 total games this fall.

Joining Breschi on the All-Great Lakes Region First-Team were Denison senior defender Alex Berman (Englewood, CO/Cherry Creek), DePauw senior attack Maggie Campbell (Winnetka, IL/New Trier), Denison senior defender Molly Chapman (Greenwich, CT/Millbrook School), Kenyon senior midfielder Julie Freedman (Lake Forest, IL/Lake Forest), DePauw junior attack Grace Goodbarn (Highlands Ranch, CO/Mountain Vista), Kenyon senior attack Rachel Hall (Los Angeles, CA/Harvard-Westlake), DePauw senior attack Paige Henry (Louisville, KY/Kentucky Country Day), Ohio Wesleyan sophomore midfielder Haley Savoie (Poway, CA/Del Notre), Kenyon freshman goalie Sarah Speroff (Euclid, OH/Hawken) and Wittenberg junior midfielder Paige Vanerstrom (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny).

Second-team selections included Denison junior defender Allie Bacon (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette), DePauw freshman midfielder Maddy Burds (Wilmette, IL/New Trier), DePauw senior attack Grace Fisher (St. Louis, MO/St. Joseph's Acad.), Wooster junior defender Anjela Galimberti (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer), Oberlin sophomore goalie Maggie Gossiaux (Metuchen, NJ/Metuchen), Kenyon freshman attack Shannon Hart (Mandara, Harare, Zimbabwe/Hellenic Acad.), Wooster senior midfielder Shelby Stone (Grosse Pointe Park, MI/South) and Wittenberg freshman defender Zara Tickner (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin).

The 2014 Longstreth / NFHCA Division III All-American Teams will be announced on December 1st, while the National Player of the Year will be announced on December 2nd.
