Denison (5-3, 5-1) handed Kenyon (8-2, 5-1) its first conference loss of the season on Saturday to run its winning streak to four. The win pulls the Big Red into a tie for first along with Kenyon and DePauw (9-1, 5-1) with matching 5-1 conference records.
DENISON handed Kenyon its first NCAC loss of the season on Saturday behind three second-half goals. Freshman Chloe Dikeou (Denver, CO/Kent Denver) scored the final two goals, including the game-winner, in the road win over the Ladies. DU also knocked off Wooster on Wednesday. The Big Red have now won four-straight.
15th-ranked DEPAUW extended its win streak to five straight (all shutouts) with wins over Earlham and Ohio Wesleyan. Freshman forward Maggie Campbell (Winnetka, IL/New Trier) scored or assisted on six of the Tigers’ nine goals last week.
EARLHAM dropped a pair of conference contests last week, falling to DePauw on Wednesday and Wittenberg on Saturday. Megan Hut (Tiel, Netherlands/RSG Lingcollege) leads the Quakers with three goals and one assist.
KENYON dropped its first conference game of the year with a 3-1 home loss to Denison on Saturday. Sunday, the Ladies bounced back to record a 5-0 win at Oberlin. Freshman Shannon Hart (Mandara, Harare, Zimbabwe/Hellenic Academy) had a goal in each game.
OBERLIN dropped two NCAC matchups last week, falling to both Wooster and Kenyon, 5-0. Sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Gossiaux (Metuchen, NJ/Metuchen) registered 20 saves against the Scots and a career-high 33 against the Ladies. Gossioaux’s season total reached 138 saves. Attacker Maureen Coffey (Manassas, VA/Stonewall Jackson) led the way offensively with 10 shots in two games, six of which were on goal.
OHIO WESLEYAN dropped a pair of conference contests last week, falling to Wittenberg, 5-4, in overtime and DePauw, 4-0. Junior forward Montana Knapp (San Diego, CA/Patrick Henry) scored a goal and recorded two assists on the week to lead OWU. The Battling Bishops return to action this week with NCAC games against Earlham on Wednesday, Kenyon Saturday and step outside the conference to face Bethany on Sunday.
WITTENBERG picked up two conference victories last week as senior Megan Loofbourrow (Prospect, KY/Ballard) scored twice and assisted twice in wins over Ohio Wesleyan, 5-4, in overtime, and Earlham, 7-0. Twin sister Kim Loofbourrow (Prospect, KY/Ballard) played the hero with a goal in each game, including the overtime game-winner versus the Battling Bishops.
WOOSTER split a pair of home conference games, dropping a 4-0 decision to Denison and then getting past Oberlin, 5-0. Sophomore forward Leah Prescott (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Mendon) recorded her first-career hat trick and tallied an assist during the 5-0 win over the Yeowomen.
