Kenyon junior goalie Sarah Speroff (Euclid, OH/Hawken) and Denison sophomore midfielder Lucy Pearsall (Chicago, IL/Latin School of Chicago) were named to the 2016 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-American Team, it was announced on December 6th.
Speroff, who was also named the NFHCA Great Lakes region Player of the Year on November 30th, was a first-team All-American selection this season after earning third-team laurels a year ago. She started all 22 games for the Ladies this season and wound up making 153 saves. She posted seven shutout wins, a 1.24 goals-against-average and a .845 save percentage. Her GAA ranked 27th best among all goalkeepers in NCAA Division III and her save percentage ranked fifth best in the country.
Pearsall, the 2016 NCAC Midfielder of the Year, was a third-team All-American selection after leading Denison with eight assists and 34 points during the 2016 season. She also finished second on the team in goals with 13.
A total of 48 student-athletes representing 34 different schools were selected to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-America Team. The squad consisted of 30 seniors, 12 juniors and six sophomores.
