Eighteen NCAC field hockey student-athletes were named to the 2017 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-Great Lakes Region Team, it was announced on November 29th.
Eight NCAC student-athletes were named to the first team, while 10 earned second-team laurels.
The eight NCAC student-athletes on the All-Great Lakes Region First Team included Kenyon senior defender Paige Beyer (Bedford, NY/Fox Lane), Kenyon senior midfielder Shannon Hart (Mandara, Harare, Zimbabwe/Hellenic Acad.), Earlham senior midfielder/defender Megan Hut (Tiel, Netherlands/RSG Lingcollege), Kenyon senior midfielder/forward Katelyn Hutchinson (Pottstown, PA/St. Georges School), Denison freshman defender Michelle Kabaira (Harare, Zimbabwe/Arundel School), DePauw junior midfielder Rose Revolinski (Milwaukee, WI/Univ. School of Milwaukee), Wittenberg senior defender Zara Tickner (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) and Wooster junior forward/midfielder Erika Womack (Schwenksville, PA/Perkiomen Valley).
Second-team selections from the NCAC include DePauw sophomore forward/midfielder Kelsey Doerr (St. Louis, MO/Cor Jesu Acad.), Denison senior forward/midfielder Jen Durbin (Ann Arbor, MI/Huron), Denison freshman forward/midfielder Charlotte Godfrey (Denver, CO/Cherry Creek), Wittenberg senior midfielder Maddie Goelz (Worthington, OH/Thomas Worthington), Ohio Wesleyan junior forward Alexis Roberts (Louisville, KY/Christian Acad.), Kenyon senior goalie Sarah Speroff (Euclid, OH/Hawken), Kenyon senior midfielder/defender Kelsey Trulik (Ann Arbor, MI/Huron), Earlham junior midfielder Maite Turlings (Tiel, Netherlands/Coornhert Lyceam), Wittenberg freshman midfielder/defender Channa Visseren (Utrecht, Netherlands/St. Bonifatius College) and DePauw freshman midfielder Cathy Zesiger (Oklahoma City, OK/Casady School).
There were 99 student-athletes on the first team and 97 on the second team across the six regions, which included the Great Lakes, New England East, New England West, North Atlantic, South Atlantic and South. Broken down by class, the All-Region squads consisted of 93 seniors, 59 juniors, 28 sophomores and 16 freshmen.
The Longstreth/NFHCA Division III Regional Players of the Year will be announced on Thursday (11/30), with the All-America squad coming out on December 6th and the National Player of the Year on December 13th.
