Kenyon opened up the 2017 season with a pair of victories over Centre and Transylvania, marking the third 2-0 start for the Ladies in the last four years. Conference play opens up Tuesday as Oberlin (1-1, 0-0) travels to Kenyon and continues Wednesday as Wooster (1-0, 0-0) hosts Ohio Wesleyan (1-0, 0-0) and Wittenberg (1-0, 0-0) visits Earlham (0-0, 0-0).  

DENISON opened the season by going 1-1 in Danville, Kentucky. The Big Red defeated Transylvania, 2-0, and fell to Centre, 2-0. Denison will host DePauw and Washington and Lee next weekend.

DEPAUW opened the season going 1-1 with a 2-1 win over Virginia Wesleyan and a 4-0 loss to Christopher Newport. Senior Reilly Bruce (Chicago, IL/Francis Parker) scored both goals in the win. The Tigers travel to Denison on Saturday and host Rhodes on Sunday.

EARLHAM will open up its 2017 season at home against Wittenberg on Wednesday to open up NCAC play.

KENYON started the season 2-0 with road wins against Transylvania and Centre. A 2-1 victory against Centre avenged a 7-1 loss a season ago to a talented Colonels squad. In Kenyon’s 2-0 win against Transylvania, Sarah Speroff (Euclid, OH/Hawken) recorded her 26th career shutout moving her by Karen Thompson ‘08 for the most clean sheets in school history.

OBERLIN finished its opening weekend with a 1-1 record. The Yeowomen won their first season opener since 2012 on Saturday as they defeated Lindenwood by a score of 5-2 with five different players scoring. Oberlin opens NCAC play on Tuesday against Kenyon.

OHIO WESLEYAN was impressive in its 2017 opener, defeating Wells, 8-0. Junior forward Alexis Roberts (Louisville, KY/Christian Academy) finished with two goals and two assists, while Freshman Alycia Goins (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) had one save during the first half and freshman Paige Ross (Boston, MA/Boston) completed the shutout in the Bishop cage.

WITTENBERG opened the weekend on the road with a 2-1 win at W&J and a 7-1 loss at Lynchburg. Senior Riley Trexler (Louisville, KY/Atherton) scored one goal on the weekend to lead the Tigers.

WOOSTER opened the season with a convincing 8-0 win over Wells on Sunday, marking the most goals in a game by the Scots since 2013. First-year Sydney Schuster (Ann Arbor, MI/Skyline) logged eight points in her collegiate debut with three goals and two assists. Classmate Caitlyn O’Connor (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) and junior Erika Womack (Schwenksville/PA/Perkiomen Valley) recorded a pair of goals each in the contest.
