Wittenberg freshman Sam Geise led the Tigers to the team championship at Wooster’s Nye Intercollegiate after earning co-medalist honors with teammate Ben Hogenkamp (Minster, OH/Minster) with a two-day total of 150 (76-74). Wittenberg finished the event with 309 total strokes (308-301) to top the team leaderboard.

Wooster freshman Sharmeen Chinoy led the Fighting Scots to a fourth-place finish at their own Mohican Classic by finishing in a tie for third in the individual standings with a 36-hole score of 179 (87-92). The Scots tallied a two-day score of 803 (399-404) to finish behind Mount Union (745), John Carroll (777) and Columbus State (796) in the final team standings.

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Kaneat Nimcharoenwan helped the Battling Bishops finish second overall at their own Strimer Memorial at Glenross Golf Club by earning champion medalist honors after topping the individual standings with a 140 (71-69). OWU posted a two-day team score of 582 (299-283).

Denison freshman Brynn FitzGerald earned champion medalist honors at OWU’s Laura Bump Invitational at Mill Creek Golf Club after defeating Michelle Hall of Madonna on the fifth playoff hole. FitzGerald, who has now won three individual event titles in her rookie season, turned in a two-day total of 155 (75-80) to win the event. As a team, the Big Red finished fourth overall with 666 strokes (332-334).

Denison junior Aaron Klimchuk took home medalist honors for the second time in his collegiate career after turning in a two-day total of 142 (70-72) at the Muskingum Spring Invitational. DU also earned the team title at the event with 596 strokes (295-301) at EagleSticks Golf Club in Zanesville, Ohio.

Allegheny senior Liz Blyth carded a two-round score of 149 (74-75) to earn individual medalist honors and help the Gators to the team title at the Capital Purple & White Invitational at Westchester Golf Club in Canal Winchester, Ohio. Her 36-hole score was nine strokes ahead of the second-place finisher, while her opening 74 tied her career-best performance which she set at the 2012 NCAC Championships.

Wittenberg junior David Wetterich guided the Tigers to a third-place tie at The West Cup in Jurupa Valley, California, after finishing the event in a tie for 14th in the individual standings with a 54-hole total of 219 (74-74-71). The Tigers finished the two-day event with 886 strokes (297-290-299).

The DePauw junior duo of Paige Gooch and Kelsey Smith led the Tigers to a fifth-place finish at the predominantly Div. I Low Country Intercollegiate at the Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina, on March 25th by each carding 18-hole rounds of 83 to finish in a tie for 14th in the individual standings. The Tigers finished the 18-hole event with a team score of 339.

DePauw sophomore Brandon Bekkering paced the Tigers at the highly competitive Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Championship in North Carolina. Bekkering was DPU’s top golfer on the week after totaling a 54-hole total of 222 (71-76,75) to help lead the Tigers to a seventh-place finish in the Scarlet Course Championship with a three-day total of 903 (298-310-295).

Wittenberg sophomore Carolyn Wong led the Tigers to the team title at the weather-shortened Mount Union Spring Invitational by claiming medalist honors with a final score of 78. The Tigers captured the overall event title after carding an 18-hole team total of 326.

Wittenberg junior Jack Uecker was the individual medalist with an 18-hole total of 75 strokes to lead the Tigers to the team championship at The Members Invitational with 309 strokes. Wittenberg hosted the three team event that was hosted at the Golf Club at Indigo Run in Hilton Head, South Carolina, on March 7th.

Allegheny senior Liz Blyth opened the 2013 Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational with a 90, but rebounded with back-to-back rounds in the 70’s to finish in a tie for 27th with 246 strokes. She bounced back with a team-low 79 in round two and shaved two more strokes off in the final round with a 77. The Gators finished 13th out of 21 teams at the highly competitive event with 1,017 strokes (348-338-331).

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Drew O’Connor led the Battling Bishops at the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial, hosted by Guilford College at Cardinal Golf & Country Club. O’Connor carded a two-day total of 156 (76-80) to tie for 31st overall in the individual standings. The Battling Bishops finished ninth overall in the team standings with a 36-hole total of 637 (320-317).

Wittenberg sophomore Alex Andrews led the Tigers at the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Sandestin, Florida. Andrews tied for third place in the individual standings with solid scores of 75 and 72 in rounds one and two, respectively, before blistering the course with a four under-par 67 in the final round to post a 54-hole total of 214. His 67 was the second-best single round in school history, while his combined scores from round two (72) and three (67) represent the third-best two-round score in program history at 138.

DePauw junior Charlie Castino helped the Tigers claim their first team title since the 2010-11 season after earning championship medalist honors at the DPU Small College Classic at Deer Field Golf Club in Clayton, Indiana, with a two-day total of 146 (73-73). The Tigers finished the 36-hole event with 613 strokes (307-306) to finish three strokes ahead of Hanover for the team title.

Wittenberg sophomore Rachel Steiner helped the Tigers earn the team championship at their own Pat Clouse Invitational after earning individual champion medalist honors with a two-day total of 155 (77-78). The DPU Tigers held a five-stroke advantage in the team standings after round one with 311 strokes, but Wittenberg was able to better manage poor weather conditions on the final day to capture the team championship with a 36-hole total of 636 (316-320).

Blyth fired a two-day total of 155 after posting a 75 on day one and an 80 in the final round. The Gators finished second overall in the final team standings with a 652 (324-328).

The Gators entered the final round of the event with a three-stroke lead, but couldn’t hang on as Point Park narrowly edged them out by one stroke as PPU totaled 597 strokes (297-300) to Allegheny’s 598 (294-304).

Smith then went on to finish in a tie for third at the DPU Small College Classic after carding a 164 (82-82). Her four-round average on the week was 79.3.

Wittenberg sophomore John Chaney, a transfer from Eastern Michigan, made his debut on the Tigers golf squad by carding a two-day total of 148 (73-75) to finish second overall and first among NCAC competitors at the Denison Fall Classic at Granville Golf Course in Ohio. Chaney’s performance helped lead Wittenberg to the team title at the event with a 36-hole total of 601 (303-298).

Wittenberg freshman Allie Lawwill helped the Tigers to a third-place finish at the Illinois Fall Classic after finishing seventh individually with a two-day total of 153 (74-79). The Tigers opened the tournament with a 309, which is tied for the second-best 18-hole round in school history, and carded a 328 on day two to finish with 637 total strokes. In addition, Lawwill’s 74 in the opening round as well as her 153 two-day total both rank second in program history.

Wittenberg junior Ben Hogenkamp earned medalist honors at the Transylvania Fall Invitational after carding a two-day total of 139 (70-69). His 69 in the final round is just the 17th sub-70 round in program history, while his 36-hole score of 139 is tied for third all-time at Wittenberg.

In her collegiate debut at the Denison Fall Invitational at the Granville Golf Course, Big Red freshman Brynn FitzGerald shot a school-record four-over par 75 (36-39) on Saturday and fired a 77 on Sunday en route to earning medalist honors with a total score of 152. FitzGerald broke the previous school record set by teammate Amanda Castle (4/28/12) and Allie DeFries (3/28/09) by five strokes.
