Wittenberg freshman Isaac Hartley closed out the regular season portion of his rookie campaign by posting a pair of top-10 individual finishes last week. He finished in a tie for seventh at the Emory Invitational at Smoke Rise C.C. in Stone Mountain, Georgia, last Monday (4/11) with a 36-hole score of 144 (71-73), before finishing in a tie for second at Wittenberg’s own Rosencrans-Maurer Invitational over the weekend with a four-under par 140 (70-70). The Tigers also collected the team title at the Rosencrans-Maurer Invitational with a school-record score of 565 (282-283) in a 36-hole event.

Wooster junior Hannah Buzolits earned individual medalist honors at the Scots’ own Spring Invitational last weekend with a 36-hole score of 159 (80-79) on the par-72, 5,841-yard Mohican Hills Golf Club in Jeromesville, Ohio. Buzolits entered Sunday one shot back of the lead and charged late, playing the back-nine on Sunday at two-over-par. She had a big boost with a birdie on the par-5, 475-yard 13th hole and, before paring each of the last three holes to finish with a one-shot lead over Madonna’s Jordyn Shepler and Mount Union’s Olivia DeMartino.

Allegheny senior Robby Pickett turned in a pair of top-10 performances last week, which included tying for medalist honors at the CMU Edward Jones Shootout with a two-under 68 on the par-70, 6,512-yard Links of Spring Church in Spring Church, Pennsylvania. He also tied for 10th in the individual standings earlier in the week at The Hershey Cup with a two-day total of 157 (76-81) on the par-71, 6,551-yard East Course at The Hershey Country Club. Allegheny finished second in the team standings at both events with a 36-hole score of 635 (320-315) at The Hershey Cup and an 18-hole score of 287 at the weather-shortened Edward Jones Shootout.

Wittenberg sophomore Jane Hopkinson-Wood led the Tigers to a third-place finish last week at the NCAA Division III Championships Preview, played at the par-72, 5,871-yard Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. Hopkinson-Wood finished third overall in the individual standings at the high profile event with a 36-hole score of 153 (75-78). The Tigers checked in at third in the team standings with 641 strokes, behind only Texas-Tyler (616) and NYU (639).

Kenyon junior Mason McCool guided the Lords to the team title at the rain-shortened OWU Strimer Memorial Invitational by finishing atop the individual leader board with a one-over par 72 at the par-71, 6,637-yard Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio. McCool shared the top spot in the individual standings with Wooster freshman Andrew DeLaat (Medina, OH/Medina), but McCool was declared the medalist via the back-nine score tiebreaker. The Lords also picked up their second team victory of the 2015-16 season with an 18-hole score of 296.

DePauw freshman Rachele Miller carded back-to-back rounds of 82 to finish in a tie for 21st in the individual standings with 164 strokes at the Bradley University Invitational, played at the par 72, 6,065-yard Weaver Ridge Course in Peoria, Illinois. The Tigers also finished 11th overall in the team standings with 678 strokes (341-337) at the event that consisted of primarily NCAA Division I opponents.

Wittenberg freshman Colin Laszlo logged a top-five individual finish at the Butler Spring Invitational last week at the par-72, 6,775-yard Hulman Links G.C. in Avon, Indiana. Laszlo opened the tournament with a 77 and elevated into the top-five after round two with a 75 to finish the two-day event with 152 strokes. The Tigers finished third in the team standings behind IUPUI (611) and Robert Morris (617) with a 36-hole score of 619 (308-311).

DePauw freshman Larisa Luloff finished second in the individual standings at the Arizona Christian Triangular with an 18-hole score of 76. It was her second-straight round of 76 in a tournament this spring. The Tigers also went on to win the three-team event with 318 strokes.

Kenyon sophomore Ryan Muthiora logged a top-five individual finish to lead the Lords to second-place in the team standings at the Virginia Wesleyan Marlin Invitational, played at the par-70, 6,462-yard Elizabeth Manor C.C. in Portsmouth, Virginia. Muthiora fired a one-under par 69 in round one to take the early lead in the individual standings, before closing out the 54-hole tournament with a 72 and a 74 to finish fourth overall with 215 strokes. The Lords finished second behind host VA Wesleyan in the team standings by an 859-883 margin.

Denison junior Tina Berardi earned individual medalist honors at the Battle at Barefoot last Thursday with an 18-hole score of 82 on the par-71, 5,801-yard Fazio Course at the Barefoot Landing Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The 82 was also one stroke shy of her career-best 18-hole round. The Big Red also won the team title at the event with 350 strokes.

Wittenberg senior Sam Geise posted a top-five individual performance at the TaylorMade-Adidas Intercollegiate to lead the Tigers to a second-place finish overall against some of the nation’s top teams in Division III. Geise finished alone in fourth in the individual standings after carding a 54-hole score of 222 (76-73-73) on the par-72, 6,789-yard Cotton Dike Course in Dataw Island, South Carolina. The Tigers finished second behind Guilford in the team standings with a two-day total of 892 (293-293-306).

Wittenberg junior Macy Hubbard led the Tigers to their sixth team title of the 2015-16 season after earning medalist honors with an even-par 144 (73-71) last week at the TaylorMade-Adidas Intercollegiate, played at the par-72, 5,900-yard Morgan River Course in Dataw Island, South Carolina. Tigers won the eight-team event with a two-day total of 627 (317-310). It marked the third time this season that Hubbard has collected medalist honors after tying for the spot in the fall at both the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic and the Pat Clouse Invitational.

Wittenberg junior Garrett Brickley led all NCAC golfers last week at The O’Briant-Jensen Memorial in North Carolina by finishing second overall with a two-day score of 149 (75-74) on the par-71, 6,819-yard Sedgefield Dye Course. It marked Brickley’s best collegiate finish and helped the Tigers to finish second out of 18 teams with 612 strokes (307-305).

Allegheny senior Jimmy Lasher earned the NCAC men’s Golfer of the Week award for the third time this season after earning medalist honors at Wooster’s Nye Intercollegiate/NCAC Preview with a three-under par 141 (69-72) at the par-72, 6,545-yard Wooster Country Club. In five events and 10 total rounds this fall, Lasher has shot at or under par five times and owns a 71.7 average.

Wittenberg junior Macy Hubbard earned NCAC Golfer of the Week honors for the second time this season after earning medalist honors at an event for the second time this season last weekend at the Pat Clouse Invitational with a two-day score of 147 (70-77) at the par-72, 5,809-yard Springfield Country Club in Ohio. Hubbard’s 2-under par 70 on Saturday was her first-ever sub-par round and just the second such 18-hole score in Wittenberg program history.

Wittenberg junior Mark David Wright fired a six-under par 210 (69-72-69) to finish third out of 60 golfers at the highly competitive Gordin Classic, played last week at the par-72, 7,010-yard Columbus Country Club in Ohio. The event featured 10 teams currently ranked in the top-25 in the most recent GCAA Bushnell Golfweek Div. III Coaches’ Poll, including Wittenberg which ranked third in the most recent poll. As a team, the Tigers finished third overall with 863 strokes (289-287-287), behind only ninth-ranked Berry (854) and top-ranked Methodist (862).

Wittenberg senior Maggie Smith became the third different Tiger to earn medalist honors in an event this season after topping the 58-golfer field last weekend at Wooster’s Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational, played at the par-72, 5,802-yard Wooster Country Club. She carded matching rounds of 77 to finish with a 154, which was four strokes better than junior teammate Macy Hubbard (Mason, OH/Mason).

DePauw junior Quinn Smith posted a top-10 individual finish to guide the Tigers at their own Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic last weekend at Twin Bridges Golf Club in Danville, Indiana. Quinn fired a two-day total of 154, which included back-to-back 77’s, to finish third overall on the par-72, 7,058-yard course. The Tigers finished in a tie for second with Hanover in the final team standings with a two-day total of 630 (318-312).

DePauw freshman Rachele Miller picked up her first individual title of her career last weekend at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic, played at the par-72, 5,835-yard Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois. Miller finished in a three-way tie for first at the event with 149 strokes, which included an even-par 72 on Sunday. The Tigers also picked up their first team victory of the season at the event with a combined score of 608 (309-299).

Allegheny senior Jimmy Lasher earned his second NCAC Golfer of the Week award of the 2015-16 season after earning medalist honors at the Guy W. Kuhn Memorial Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,809-yard Country Club of Meadville. Lasher topped the 59-golfer field with a two-day score of 141, which included an even-par 72 on Sunday and a career-best three-under 69 on Monday. The Gators also won their second-straight team championship at the event with a 36-hole score of 587 (300-287).

Wittenberg junior Macy Hubbard earned a pair of top-5 finishes last week to earn the NCAC Women’s Golfer of the Week award for the first time in her career. Hubbard opened the week by firing a 149 (73-76) to finish in fourth at The O’Brien National Invitational, played at the par-72, 5,806-yard Knollwood Country Club. She then picked up the third medalist honor of her career later in the week by carding a 150 (76-74) at the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic, played at the par-72, 5,900-yard Deer Creek Golf Club. The Tigers also earned the team title in both events, setting a pair of school records at the O’Brien National Invitational for low 18-hole round score (292) and low 36-hole round score (591).

Denison junior Jonathan Taylor was the top NCAC finisher at OWU’s Battle at the Brook, played last weekend at the Par-71, 6,451-yard Plum Brook Country Club in Sandusky, Ohio. Taylor finished in a tie for second in the individual standings with a 36-hole score of 147 (75-72), while the Big Red finished third overall in the team standings with a two-day score of 623 (315-308).

Wooster junior Emily Howerton won medalist honors at an event for the first time in her career last weekend after finishing first out of 60 golfers at the OWU Fall Invitational, played at the Par-72, 5,823-yard Safari Golf Club in Powell, Ohio. Howerton, who does have five career top-five finishes, captured her first-career individual title with a 36-hole score of 158 (77-81). Wooster also won the team title at the event with a two-day score of 650 (321-329).

The Allegheny senior duo of Robby Pickett (Cincinnati, OH/Indian Hill) and James Lasher (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) shared medalist honors at the season-opening Wooster Gatorade Collegiate with two-day totals of 140 on the Par-72, 6,730-yard Zoar Village Golf Course in Lawrence, Ohio. Lasher opened the two-day event with a 69 on Saturday and followed with a 71 on Sunday, while Pickett posted the reverse scores with a 71 on Saturday and a 69 on Sunday. Ironically, it also marked the first time either golfer had won medalist honors in their careers.

Wittenberg sophomore Jane Hopkinson-Wood led all NCAC finishers at the Denison Lynn Schweizer Invitational by finishing second overall in the individual standings with a 36-hole score of 147 (72-75) on the Par-71, 5,798-yard course. The Tigers, which won seven total individual events in 2014-15, including their first NCAC championship, also won the team title at Denison with 619 strokes (305-314).
