Both golfers posted a 149 on the opening weekend of play at the par-73, 5,801-yard course at The Country Club of Meadville, but Hopkinson-Wood was declared the event one medalist via her one-under par 72 in the second round on Sunday.

The Tigers finished third overall in the team standings with a 313, while Hanover captured the team title with 304 strokes.

Wooster senior Hannah Buzolits shined for the Fighting Scots in the final regular season event of her career by finishing second out of 38 golfers at the program’s own Spring Invitational, played at the par-72, 5,803-yard Mohican Hills Golf Club in Jeromesville, Ohio. Buzolits opened play with a tournament-low round of 76 on Saturday, before posting an 84 on Sunday to finish with a two-day total of 160. The Scots finished third in the team standings at their own event with a 36-hole score of 662 (319-343).

Wittenberg sophomore Colin Laszlo collected his second individual title of the season last week at the Wright State Intercollegiate, played at the par-71, 6,666-yard Miami Valley G.C. in Dayton, Ohio. In an event that featured all Div. I teams, Laszlo finished first out of 60 total golfers in the individual standings with a 54-hole score of 209, highlighted by a two-under par 69 in the final round. The Tigers also took home the team title at the event with 1,080 strokes (361-356-362). The event was scored slightly different then normal Div. III events as each team had a lineup of six players, with the top five from each round serving as the team scorers.

Denison senior Anne Miller set the program’s 18-hole scoring record en route to earning medalist honors at the Laura Bump Invitational. Miller opened the tournament by breaking DU’s 18-hole scoring record with a two-under par 70 on the par-72, 5,834-yard Mill Creek Golf Club in Ostrander, Ohio. She then carded an 80 in round two and hung on to collect medalist honors by three strokes over Wooster’s Hannah Buzolits, 150-153.

Denison senior Jonathan Taylor won individual medalist honors at an event for the first time this season after carding a 36-hole score of 144 (73-71) at the Strimer Memorial Invitational, played at the par-71, 6,637-yard Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio. Taylor’s even-par 71 in the second round tied two additional players for the top 18-hole round in the tournament. The Big Red finished third as a team at the event with a two-day total of 607 (311-296).

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Marie Overing won a sudden-death playoff to earn medalist honors at the Miami Whitewater Classic, played at the par-72 Miami Whitewater Forest G.C. in Harrison, Ohio. Overing carded a 36-hole score of 177 (87-90) to finish in a tie for first with Franklin’s Keely Townsend. After both golfers posted a par on the first playoff hole, Overing’s par on the second playoff hole gave her the medalist trophy and her first victory of her collegiate career.

DePauw sophomore Josh Krutchik finished just outside the top-10 in a five-way tie for 11th to lead the Tigers at the Wis.-Parkside Spring Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,898-yard Otter Creek G.C. in Columbus, Indiana. Krutchik opened the event with a one-over par 73 on Sunday, before rounding out the tournament with a three-over 75 on Monday afternoon. As a team, the Tigers finished in a tie for ninth with St. Joseph’s (IN) after carding a 36-hole score of 607 (302-305).

Wooster senior Mallorey Stack led the Scots in a 342-347 victory over NCAA Div. I Savannah State on March 20th at the par-72, 5,594-yard Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, Georgia. Stack finished as the individual medalist at the event with an 82, which was the second-lowest 18-hole round in her career and one shot better than Savannah State’s Rachele Orne. The Scots won the dual over SSU by a final score of 342-347.

Kenyon junior Ryan Muthiora opened spring break action last week by posting a top-five individual finish at the Taylormade-Adidas Intercollegiate, played at the par-72, 6,718-yard Cotton Dike Course at Dataw Island in South Carolina. He finished in a tie for fourth at the event with Emory & Henry’s Carlos Andrade after carding a 54-hole score of 225 (77-71-77). He then returned to the course later in the week for the Jekyll Island Collegiate, played at the Jekyll Island Golf Club in Georgia. In an event that features many of the nation’s top golfers, Muthiora finished in a four-way tie for 76th with 230 strokes, which included a two-under par 70 in the opening round.

DePauw sophomore Larisa Luloff cracked the top-10 in the individual standings over the weekend at the Jekyll Island Collegiate, played at the par-72, 5,801-yard Indian Mound Course in Jekyll Island, Georgia. Luloff finished in a four-way tie for sixth-place out of 120 total golfers with a 54-hole score of 233, which included a two-over par 74 in the second round. Over the course of the tournament, Luloff recorded 30 pars, three birdies and had one of just three eagles in the field.

Hartley first posted back-to-back rounds of 74 to finish in a tie for 10th in the individual standings at the Callaway Gardens Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,976-yard Mountain View G.C. in Pine Mountain, Georgia, March 6-7. He then carded a 74 to finish in a tie for fourth at The Members Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,707-yard Indigo Run G.C. in Hilton Head, South Carolina, on March 9th.

Brickley opened the tournament with an even-par 71 in round one and carded a one-over 72 in the final round to finish in a tie for seventh with 143 strokes. The Tigers finished third out of 12 teams in the final standings with a 36-hole score of 583 (290-293).

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Adam Armstrong lifted the Bishops to their third team title of the fall season last weekend at Centre’s Jim English Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,815-yard Danville Country Club in Kentucky. Armstrong opened the event with a 75 on Saturday, but carded a one-under 71 on Sunday to elevate into the top-five in the individual standings in fourth-place with a 146. The Bishops trailed host Centre by one stroke after the opening round, but bounced back with a 299 on Sunday to earn their third title of the fall season with 601 strokes (302-299).

Wittenberg junior Jane Hopkinson-Wood put a bow on the fall portion of the 2016-17 season by winning the highly competitive Golfweek Division III Fall Preview last week at the par-73, 5,931-yard Baytowne Golf Club in Destin, Florida. In an event that featured many of the nation’s top teams, Hopkinson-Wood guided the Tigers to the team title by earning medalist honors with the only under-par score in the individual standings at 215, which included a tournament-low round of 70 in the second round. The Tigers won the event by 10 strokes over Methodist with a 54-hole score of 927 (316-302-309).

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Adam Armstrong shot a one-under par 71 in the third round of the Kenyon BSN Fall Invitational on Monday afternoon to finish in a four-way tie for first place in the individual standings with 216 strokes. Armstrong opened the event with a three-over par 75 in round one and started his trek to the top of the individual standings with a two-under par 70 in round two. Armstrong was declared the medalist runner-up after Muskingum’s Luke Janci was named the medalist after posting a two-under par 70 in the final round.

Denison senior Anne Miller guided the Big Red to back-to-back team titles for the first time since 2014 after earning medalist honors last weekend at Wooster’s Eva Shorb Wesikopf Invitational, played at the par-72, 5,803-yard Wooster Country Club in Ohio. Miller topped the 57-golfer field with a 36-hole score of 159, which included a tournament-low round of 78 in the opening round on Saturday. DU ran away with its second-straight tournament title after finishing the event with 657 strokes (326-348).

Kenyon senior Mason McCool led the Lords to a record-breaking performance at McDaniel’s Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic by finishing in a tie for third out of 68 golfers in the individual standings. McCool opened the tournament on Saturday with a two-under par 70, before carding a two-over par 74 on Sunday to finish the 36-hole tournament with 144 strokes. The Lords also took home the team title at the event with a tournament-record score of 589 (290-299).

Denison senior Tina Berardi captured medalist honors to help the Big Red win the team title at BW’s Yellow Jacket Invitational, played at the par-71, 5,972-yard Grey Hawk Golf Club in LaGrange, Ohio. Berardi opened the event with a career-low, 18-hole score of 76, before carding an 82 on Sunday to finish the event with a career-low, 36-hole score of 158. That score also ranks fourth on the program’s all-time list for a 36-hole event. The Big Red also captured their first team title of the 2016-17 season after setting the school record in a 36-hole event with 644 strokes, which included a school record, 18-hole score of 315 in the opening round.

Wittenberg senior Sam Stilwell posted a pair of top-10 performances at two of the nation’s premier events last week. He opened the week by finishing in a tie for sixth at the NCAA Division III Championships Preview with a 54-hole score of 219 (71-73-75) at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, before earning all-tournament team honors on Monday by tying for fifth in the individual standings at The Gordin Collegiate Classic with a 213 (66-76-71) at the Delaware G.C. in Delaware, Ohio. His opening-round round 66 also featured a hole-in-one on the 176-yard, par-3 18th hole.

DePauw sophomore Rachele Miller posted a top-5 individual finish to lead the Tigers to a second-place team finish at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic, played at the par-72, 5,805-yard Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois. Miller opened the two-day event with an even-par 72 on Sunday, before carding a one-over 73 on Sunday to finish third overall in the individual standings with a 36-hole score of 145. DePauw posted a team score of 615 (307-308) to finish second overall behind Washington (MO) by just one stroke.

He shared the lead with three of his own teammates after round one with a one-under par 70, before securing the one-stroke victory on Sunday with an even-par 71. The Bishops also won the team title at the event with a 36-hole score of 577 (287-290).

Hopkinson-Wood opened the event with a two-under par 70 on Saturday, before carding a one-over par 73 on Sunday to finish with a 36-hole score of 143. The Tigers finished just one stroke behind Indiana Tech (618) for the team title at the event after posting a two-day total of 619 (300-319).

Wittenberg sophomore Colin Laszlo (Waipahu, HI/Punahou) collected medalist honors at Allegheny’s Guy W. Kuhn Memorial Invitational after carding a 36-hole score of 143 at the par-72, 6,808-yard Country Club of Meadville in Pennsylvania. Laszlo opened the two-day event with a tournament-low round of 70 on Sunday, before securing medalist honors on Monday with a one-over par 73. Although Laszlo competed as an individual at the event, the Tigers also posted a 14-stroke victory at the event over Carnegie Mellon (608) with a two-day total of 594 (301-292).

Miller opened play on Friday with a tournament-low round of 73, before sealing the victory on Saturday with a 77. The Tigers also won the team title at the event with a two-day total of 631 (322-309).

Allegheny senior Collin Haag turned in a record-setting performance to kick off his senior season at Wooster’s Gatorade Collegiate Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,730-yard Zoar Village Golf Club in Dover, Ohio. The senior earned medalist honors at the event with a two-round total of 136, which tied for the lowest 36-hole score in program history. His effort was aided by a seven-under par 65 in Sunday’s final round, which tied the course record at Zoar Village and was the second-lowest 18-hole performance in program history.

Wittenberg senior Macy Hubbard guided the Tigers to the team title at Denison’s Lynn Schweizer Invitational for the second year in a row after finishing the event with a 36-hole score of 145 (74-71) on the par-71, 5,530-yard Denison Golf Club in Granville, Ohio. Hubbard did share the 36-hole lead with Bridgewater’s Christina Herbert, but Herbert topped Hubbard in the one-hole playoff to secure Medalist honors. Wittenberg won the team title at the event for the second year in a row after carding an opening round 313 and a 297 on Sunday for a 36-hole score of 610.
