Ohio Wesleyan University junior Cirrus Robinson (Columbus, OH/Ashland) was named the Great Lakes Region Field Athlete of the Year by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), it was announced by the USTFCCCA.
Robinson received all-region honors in the high jump and the 400-meter dash after recording one of the region's top 5 performances in each event. At last week's North Coast Athletic Conference championship, she won her third-consecutive high jump title, clearing 5-6½. Earlier this season, she won her third consecutive All-Ohio Division III title in the high jump, clearing 5-7¾ to tie the meet record she set in 2017 and equaled in 2018.
Robinson will be competing at the NCAA Division III championship meet in the high jump on Saturday. She is tied for the top seed with a height of 5-8¾ and is the 2-time defending national champion in the event.
