The Wabash men's basketball team was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) NCAA Division III Team of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
No. 14-ranked Wabash broke the school record for points scored in a single game in its 137-131 victory over Greenville University at the Nicholas Investments Thanksgiving Tournament on Friday. The two teams also combined for a conference record 268 points, breaking the old record of 251 combined points set by Wooster (150) and Emory & Henry (101) on 11/27/2005. The Little Giants also handed Carroll its first loss of the season (86-78) and took an 85-72 decision over Earlham during the week.
Teams up for NABC Team of the Week honors were nominated by their respective conferences, before being voted on by the NABC leadership. Only one team is selected per week from each of five levels of collegiate basketball (Division I, II, III, NAIA, and Junior College). This week, Wabash joins Baylor (DI), Texas A&M-Commerce (DII), Wayland Baptist (NAIA) and Sullivan County Community College (NJCAA).
