After winning the inaugural NCAC Tournament Championship last Saturday and the league's automatic bid, the Ohio Wesleyan men's lacrosse team will host Aurora College in the first round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament this Wednesday, May 8th, at Selby Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
The Bishops improved to 13-5 on the season with last week's 10-9 win over rival Denison in the NCAC Championship game and earned one of 19 Pool A (automatic) bids to the field of 29 teams. Aurora, with a record of 16-3, earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament after defeating Carthage, 13-3, in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Final on Saturday.
This will be the second meeting of the season between the Bishops and the Spartans. The teams squared off to open the 2013 season, with Ohio Wesleyan taking an 11-9 decision on Feb. 16 at Selby Stadium.
The winner of Wednesday's first-round game will advance to the second round to face Cortland (N.Y.) State on Saturday.
Ticket prices will be $6 for adults, $3 for students with ID, and $3 for senior citizens. Tickets may be purchased in advance from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Wednesday only at the athletics office in Edwards Gym.
