Denison (19-0) kept its record-setting season alive on Wednesday afternoon as senior Eddie Vita (Coronado, CA/Coronado), the NCAC Offensive Player of the Year, recorded a game-high seven points on two goals and five assists to propel the Big Red to a 19-4 victory over Centre in the first round.

On Saturday, May 10, Denison knocked off Aurora, 11-8, in NCAA second-round action to advance to the Quarterfinal Round for the 13th time in program history. Leading 8-7 entering the fourth quarter, Denison outscored Aurora, 3-1, over the final 15 minutes to defeat the Spartans. Vita passed out five assists and freshman Luke Walsh (Buffalo, NY/Nichols School/Deerfield Acad.) added three goals and two assists to led the Big Red with five points each in the victory.

The Big Red will travel to Salisbury University in Maryland for a quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday, May 14, at 7:00 p.m. Denison brings its program-best 19-0 record into Wednesday's contest with the Sea Gulls. This will be the first meeting between Denison and Salisbury since 2008, and the 23rd all-time. Salisbury holds a 19-3 advantage in the series. Denison's last win over Salisbury came in the 2001 NCAA quarterfinals where the Big Red knocked off the Gulls, 11-6, advancing to the semifinals for the second time in school history. This is the fifth time these two teams have met in NCAA Tournament play. Denison is 1-3 in those previous four games, with losses coming in 1982 (quarterfinals), 1999 (semifinals) and 2006 (second round).
