Denison saw its record-breaking season come to a close in the quarterfinal round of the 2014 NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Tournament with a 15-5 setback against Salisbury. The Big Red opened the 2014 NCAA Tournament with a 19-4 victory over Centre and advanced to the quarterfinal round for the 13th time in school history with an 11-8 triumph over Aurora in the second round.

Denison senior midfielder Chapin Speidel (Charlottesville, VA/St. Annes’s-Belfield) netted two goals to lead the Big Red in his final collegiate game. Speidel, a three-time All-NCAC performer including two straight years on the first-team, ends his career with 84 goals and 52 assists for 136 total points. 

The Big Red end the 2014 campaign with an overall record of 19-1. The 19 wins and .950 winning percentage are both single season bests in program history. Denison entered the game having already set single season high’s for goals, assists, and shot attempts.
