For the second week in a row, multiple NCAC men's lacrosse players were named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Team of the Week for games played between Feb. 26-March 4., it was announced on March 6th.
This week a trio of league athletes earned the national recognition, including Denison sophomore attack Peter Pittroff (Charlotte, NC/Country Day) and the Ohio Wesleyan duo of senior goalie Ben Rigger (Decatur, GA/Decatur) and junior attack Jack Jeschke (Syracuse, NY/Christian Brothers Acad.).
Pittroff, who was named to the Team of the Week for the second week in a row, scored three goals and dished out three assists, while adding four ground balls, in the third-ranked Big Red's 11-10 win over No. 17 Roanoke on March 6th.
Jeschke contributed two goals and an assist during a 9-0 second-half run that put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay in an 18-11 win over Illinois Wesleyan on Thursday. He finished with foru goals and an assist against IWU. On Sunday, Jeschke set up the game-winning goal in overtime as Ohio Wesleyan defeated then-third-ranked Salisbury, 12-11. He led the Bishops with four goals and an assist. On the week, Jeschke scored his eight goals on only 10 shots.
Rigger recorded a season-high 15 saves in Ohio Wesleyan's 18-11 win over Illinois Wesleyan on Thursday. On Sunday, Rigger made two saves in overtime to keep the game going, before Ohio Wesleyan scored to take a 12-11 win over then-third-ranked Salisbury. He finished the game with eight saves.
The USILA Team of the Week is made up of 10 players, regardless of positions, and chosen by a selection committee each week.
