OWU's Baughman Garners Division III Player of the Week Honors

Ohio Wesleyan senior goalie J.P. Baughman (Westerville, OH/St. Francis DeSales) was named the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Player of the Week on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Baughman recorded five saves in a shutout as OWU defeated No. 10-ranked John Carroll, 1-0, in double overtime on Wednesday. The win was Ohio Wesleyan’s second over a top-10 team on the road this season. He also split a shutout effort in an NCAC win at Oberlin on Saturday. On the week, Baughman was in goal for 169 minutes of scoreless soccer.

Baughman is the conference’s first United Soccer Coaches national player of the week since Oberlin’s Timothy Williams (Rabun Gap, GA/Rabun Gap-Nacoochee) was selected on Sept. 7, 2017.
