  • Geier & Kaye Win Doubles National Title

    Despite being eliminated from the team tournament following the quarterfinal round, there was still plenty to celebrate in Gambier last weekend as the Lords’ top doubles team of senior Sam Geier (Carmel, IN/Park Tudor) and junior Tristan Kaye (Tampa, FL/Plant) captured the program’s first-ever NCAA Doubles National Championship with a 7-6 (3), 6-1 victory over Middlebury’s team of Palmer Campbell and Hamid Derbani.

    The Kenyon men’s tennis team continues its season in the quarterfinal round of the 2016 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Tournament against Emory on Monday (5/23) at Stowe Stadium on the campus of Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

    The Kenyon men’s tennis team will travel to Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, for its opening weekend action in the 2016 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championship. The Lords secured their spot in the 43-team tournament after winning their 10th-straight NCAC title in late April.

    The 2016 NCAC Men's Tennis Championships concluded on Sunday afternoon at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. The Kenyon men captured their 10th-straight and 19th overall league championship with a 5-1 victory over Denison in the championship match. As league champions, the Lords will receive the league's automatic bid into the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Tournament.

    The 2016 NCAC Men’s Tennis Championships will be held at Denison University next weekend, April 29- May 1. The tournament begins with quarterfinal matches on Friday, semifinal and fifth- & seventh-place matches on Saturday and the championship and third-place matches on Sunday.

    NCAC men’s tennis teams will wrap up the conference portion of the 2016 campaign this week in preparation for the 2016 NCAC Men’s Tennis Championships, which will be held at Denison April 29 - May 1. Following the completion of all conferences matches this weekend, the league’s seeding committee will meet on Sunday night and the official brackets for the tournament will be released next Monday, April 25.

A pair of Top-40 showdowns on Saturday highlight the NCAC schedule, as No. 40 Oberlin (2-0, 13-6) will host No. 18 Kenyon (1-0, 5-9) in the East and No. 30 Denison (0-0, 8-5) will travel to No. 33 DePauw (0-0, 7-8) in the West.

There are three more divisional matches on the schedule this week, led by nationally-ranked Oberlin (0-0, 11-6) traveling to Wooster (0-0, 9-8) on Saturday and hosting Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday.

Several teams will also be in action up north this week, highlighted by a cross-divisional NCAC match between Ohio Wesleyan (0-0, 6-4) and Denison (0-0, 5-4) on Tuesday in Granville.

Several league squads will kick-off their spring break training trips this week, highlighted by Ohio Wesleyan (0-0, 2-3) and Wittenberg (0-0, 3-4) competing in Florida, while Kenyon (0-0, 2-6) and Wabash (0-0, 8-5) will be taking on non-conference foes in California.

    Rob Postma, head men's and women's tennis coach at Capital University, has been named head coach of the men's and women's tennis teams at Ohio Wesleyan University, it was announced by athletics director Roger Ingles.
