Denison senior Grant Veltman went 1-1 in the top singles position and a perfect 2-0 in the top doubles flight to lead the Big Red in a pair of NCAC West wins last week over Wittenberg, 7-2, and Wabash, 7-2. Veltman picked up his fourth singles win of the season against a regionally-ranked opponent against Wabash with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Daniel Delgado. He also paired with junior partner Jackson O’Gorman-Bean (Norwood, MA/Shawnee Mission East) for a pair of wins on the week in the top doubles flight.

Wabash senior Daniel Delgado combined for 5-1 record last weekend to lead the Little Giants to a perfect 3-0 record in Michigan at the NCAC-MIAA Challenge, collecting wins against Alma, 7-2, Calvin, 8-1, and Hope, 9-0. He joined with freshman doubles partner William Reifeis (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) for three wins in the top doubles flight and also racked up a 2-1 mark in the top singles position. With the three doubles victories, Delgado has tied the school record for career doubles victories at 73, while the 2015 Little Giants now own the school record for wins in a season as they enter the final week of regular season play with an overall record of 20-4.

Kenyon junior Sam Geier produced the match-clinching point in the 11th-ranked Lords’ 6-3 upset victory over No. 9 Carnegie Mellon on Easter Sunday. Geier produced the match-clinching point by outlasting CMU’s Christian Heaney-Secord 6-3, 7-6, 6-0 in the second singles flight. Geier also paired with senior Tim Rosensteel (East Windsor, NJ/Peddie) for a thrilling 9-7 victory in the top doubles flight.
|Tyler Triolo, Allegheny
Allegheny junior Tyler Triolo was a perfect 4-0 on the week between singles and doubles action in a pair of 9-0 wins over Wittenberg and Ohio Wesleyan. He joined with classmate Thomas Manning (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) for a pair of victories at No. 1 doubles, while also posting two wins in the top singles flight to even his overall singles record to 7-7 on the year.

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Alex Lutz posted a personal record of 8-0 last week to help the Battling Bishops extend their current winning streak to nine-straight. He posted singles wins in the fifth position against Albion, Adrian and Otterbein, while also teaming with freshman David Rich (Omaha, NE/Brownwell-Talbot) for three victories against the same squads in the third doubles flight. In the match against Rochester, Lutz and Rich prevailed in the top doubles flight, 8-3, with Lutz then going on to win in the second singles flight by a 6-1, 6-0 margin.

Wooster freshman Titas Bera won all five of his matches at No. 1 singles last week against Div. III opponents, with his lone setback coming against Valparaiso’s Kyle Dunn by a narrow 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) margin. He also paired with three different partners on the week in the third doubles flight for a perfect 3-0 record, which included a 6-3 victory over Valpo with senior partner Erik Lindberg (Wooster, OH/Wooster). The Scots opened the week in Florida with back-to-back losses against Wabash and Valpo, but Wooster is now riding a four-match winning streak after posting victories against Lake Forest, Ursinus, Colorado College and Bethel.

Denison sophomore Owen Smith notched the game-winning point as the 30th-ranked Big Red topped Kalamazoo, 6-3, on Saturday in Michigan. With DU trailing 3-2, the Big Red rattled off four-straight singles victories, capped off by Smith posting a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles to secure the team victory. Smith also joined with freshman Grant MacPherson (Perrysburg, OH/Western Reserve Acad.) for DU’s lone doubles point in the match with a 9-8 (7-2) victory in the third flight.

Oberlin junior Callan Louis guided the Yeomen to a 7-2 victory over NAIA member Indiana Tech on Saturday with a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles and an 8-6 victory at the top doubles flight with classmate Soren Zeliger (Bronx, NY/Horace Mann).

DePauw senior Chris Bertolini combined for an overall record of 5-1 in three matches last week. In singles, he posted a perfect 3-0 record in the top flight, which included a 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 victory over NCAA Division II Indianapolis’ Tony Kostadinov. He also teamed with sophomore Dan Rodefeld (Carmel, IN/Carmel) or a 2-1 record between the first and second doubles flights.

Wabash senior Daniel Delgado was a perfect 4-0 for the Little Giants in a pair of wins on Sunday over Elmhurst, 7-2, and Lake Forest, 8-1. He ran his current singles winning streak to four-straigt after topping Elmhurst’s Luke Tanaka 6-3, 6-4 and Lake Forest’s Dan Pivonka 6-7 (7-4), 7-5, 10-4. He also paired with freshman William Reifeis (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) for a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles over both Elmhurst and Lake Forest.

Wabash freshman William Reifeis was undefeated in both singles and doubles matches during the opening week of the spring season. He won singles matches in the No. 4 position against Case, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, and Oberlin, 6-3, 7-5, while also collecting a 6-3, 6-3 win in the third singles flight against Franklin. He has also teamed with senior Daniel Delgado (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) for a perfect 4-0 record at the top doubles flight, earning wins against Case, 9-8 (10-8), Augustana, 9-8 (7-4), Franklin, 8-0, and Oberlin, 9-8 (7-5).
