Five total players from the North Coast were named to the 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Central Region Team, highlighted by a pair of second-team selections in Denison senior first baseman Lauren Secares (Wilmette, IL/New Trier) and Hiram freshman outfielder Kaitlyn Hager (Rohnert Park, CA/Rancho Cotate).

Secares, who was also named the 2018 NCAC Player of the Year, is making her second-straight appearance on the All-Region team after earning a third-team nod last year, while Hager earned the All-Region selection after being named to the NCAC honorable mention squad in her freshman campaign.

In addition to Secares and Hager, three NCAC players were named to the third team in the Central Region, including DePauw senior Liz Getz (Bloomington, IN/South), junior Amanda Howell (Wilmette, IL/New Trier) and Wittenberg senior Chelsea Zang (Cincinnati, OH/Seton).

All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each of the eight Division III regions. First team All-Region choices are eligible for selection to the NFCA All-America team, which will be announced the evening of May 23 online at NFCA.org and in person at the NCAA Division III Championship banquet in Oklahoma City.
