2019 NCAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year Award Winners

Men's Field & Newcomer of the Year: Preston Whaley, Wabash
Wabash freshman Preston Whaley (Fort Worth, TX/Chisholm) was tabbed the NCAC Men's Field & Newcomer of the Year after a solid showing at the conference championships. Whaley produced conference titles in the men's long jump and triple jump, leaping 6.88 meters in the long jump while posting a 14.45-meter mark in the triple jump.

Men's Sprint/Hurdles: Justin Friday, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan junior Justin Friday (Fort Washington, MD/Georgetown Day School) was named the Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Year after producing conference championships in the 100 & 200-meter dashes. Friday blazed a 100-meter trail in 10.93 seconds while producing a 22.04 mark in the 200.

Men's Distance/Middle Distance: Paul Christian, DePauw
DePauw senior Paul Christian (Glen Ellyn, IL/Glenbard West) was selected the Distance/Middle Distance Athlete of the Year with strong showings in the 5,000 & 10,000-meter races. Christian won both, breaking the tape in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 14:45.20 and 31:32.91 in the 10,000-meter race.

2019 NCAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year Award Winners

Women's Field: Carolyn Webster, Wooster
Wooster senior Carolyn Webster (Fredricktown, OH/Fredricktown) earned the award as the top field athlete after claiming NCAC titles in the heptathlon (4,263 pts) and long jump (5.46m) events while also placing third in the high jump (1.59m).

Women's Sprint/Hurdles & Newcomer: Alexis Walker, Wittenberg
Wittenberg freshman Alexis Walker (Pickerington, OH/Pickerington North) took home the Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Year and Newcomer of the Year after a strong championships showing, highlighted by her conference title in the women’s 100-meter dash (12.57) on Saturday.

Women's Distance/Middle Distance: Emily Forner, Allegheny
Allegheny’s Emily Forner (Beaver, PA/Beaver Area) was named the Distance/Mid-Distance Athlete of the Year after securing NCAC Championships in both the 1,500-meter (4:37.80) and 5,000-meter runs (17:41.36).
