  • Denison Leads NCAC In Final Learfield Standings
    June 01, 2018
    Following the completion of the 2017-18 NCAA Division III competition season, four North Coast Athletic Conference schools ranked in the top-70 of the Learfield Directors' Cup standings, led by Denison finishing 44th out of 323 eligible institutions with 382.00 total points. Schools must have competed in an NCAA Championship event during the academic year in order to compile points in the standings.
  • Denison Wins Record 16th NCAC All-Sports Title

    Denison won two outright league titles in men's swimming & diving and women's lacrosse, shared the league title with Kenyon in field hockey and posted 14 additional top-five finishes during the 2017-18 academic year to win its league-leading 16th North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports Championship.

    DePauw University won one winter sport league title and finished in the top-five in three additional sports to maintain its lead in the race for the 2017-18 North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports Championship.
  • Oberlin & DePauw Fall in NCAA Opening Round

    North Coast Athletic Conference tournament champion Oberlin (23-6) earned its first bid into the 64-team NCAA Div. III Women’s Basketball Tournament, while DePauw (25-2) earned its 15th-straight berth, receiving one of the 21 at-large bids into the championship field. 2018 marks the the second time in the last four seasons the North Coast will be represented by two teams in the national field.

    DePauw junior guard Maya Howard (St. Louis, MO/MICDS) has been named the Player of the Year and Oberlin junior center Olivia Canning (Sudbury, MA/Lincoln Sudbury) has been named the Top Defensive Player to highlight the 2018 All-North Coast Athletic Conference women's basketball team, following voting by the conference's head coaches.

    The 2018 NCAC women’s basketball season came to a close following a pair of first-round losses by DePauw (25-3) and Oberlin (21-8) on Friday (3/2) in the Division III NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.

    Three NCAC women's basketball players were named to the 2017-18 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VII Team on February 22nd, highlighted by Kenyon sophomore guard Paige Matijasich (Pickerington, OH/North) as a first-team selection.

    DePauw (15-0, 23-1) captured the NCAC championship and the No. 1 seed for the 2018 NCAC Women’s Basketball Tournament last week. It marks the sixth time in the last seven years the Tigers have earned the top spot in the conference tournament. The final seven seeds for the conference tournament will be determined this week as the NCAC regular season schedule officially comes to a close on Saturday.

    Heading into the final two weeks of the regular season, the race for the NCAC title is tight as DePauw (21-1, 13-0) currently sits atop the league standings as the lone unbeaten, but Kenyon (18-3, 11-1) is just one game back in the loss column. The Tigers and Ladies are scheduled to meet this Saturday in Gambier.

    Hiram (10-10, 6-5) has won three-straight league contests and four of its last five games to move into fourth place in the NCAC standings after victories against Wooster (4-15, 2-8) and Allegheny (5-13, 2-8) last week. After starting the season 2-6 through their first eight games, the Terriers have gone 8-3 over their last 11 as they are looking to host an NCAC Tournament quarterfinal for the second consecutive year.

    DePauw (9-0, 17-1) extended its winning streak to 13 last week with a league victory over Ohio Wesleyan (0-9, 1-17) to maintain its lead atop the conference standings. 2017-18 marks the second-straight season the Tigers have strung together a winning streak of 10 or more contests and the 12th time in the last 13 years the program has accomplished that feat. There are seven league games on the schedule this week, highlighted by Wittenberg (4-5, 9-9) traveling to DePauw on Wednesday.

    Three North Coast women’s basketball squads sit at .500 or better in the conference standings as we approach the midway portion of the league schedule. DePauw (16-1, 8-0) continues to lead the NCAC in large part due to balanced scoring and a defense that has held conference opponents to just 46.9 points per game. Kenyon (14-3, 7-1) currently sits in second and Oberlin (8-6, 6-2) is in third. NCAC play continues this week with four tilts scheduled on Wednesday and three on Saturday.

    DePauw (12-1, 4-0) handed Kenyon (8-4, 5-1) its first NCAC loss of the season to remain undefeated in conference play along with Oberlin (8-4, 6-0) which knocked off Hiram (6-9, 2-4) and Wittenberg (7-9, 2-5) last week. A big week of NCAC play lies ahead as Oberlin hosts Kenyon on Wednesday and DePauw Saturday.

    A few NCAC teams took the week off to focus on final exams, with just two league games as Denison (5-6, 1-3) knocked off Wooster (2-7, 0-4) and Ohio Wesleyan (0-7, 0-2) fell to Kenyon (9-1, 4-0) on Saturday. With just six games scheduled this week, league squads will return to non-conference action after the holiday break with numerous teams either hosting or traveling to holiday tournaments, while a full schedule of conference action picks back up on January 3rd.

This week features a light schedule with just two conference contests on Saturday as Ohio Wesleyan (0-6, 0-1) visits Kenyon and Denison (4-6, 0-3) travels to Wooster (2-6, 0-3).

    DePauw sophomore guard Sydney Kopp (Burr Ridge, IL/Hinsdale South) was one of five players selected to the D3hoops.com Women's Basketball Team of the Week for games played between Nov. 27 - Dec. 3, it was announced by the website on December 5th.

    DePauw (6-1, 2-0), Kenyon (6-1, 2-0) and Oberlin (4-2, 2-0) all jumped out to perfect starts in conference play and sit atop the NCAC standings. There are four league games scheduled each on Wednesday and Saturday this week.

    The NCAC portion of the schedule opened up last week with Oberlin (3-2, 1-0) defeating Hiram (1-5, 0-1), 57-52, on Tuesday. DePauw and Kenyon are off to 4-1 starts to open the year and posted a combined 4-1 record against non-conference opponents over the Thanksgiving Holiday. This week features a full slate of contests, including seven conference games starting on Wednesday when Oberlin travels to Wooster (2-2, 0-0) and Wittenberg (2-3, 0-0) visits Kenyon.

    The DePauw Tigers are 2-0 following victories against Wis. Lutheran and Luther to win the Paul F. Knueppel Classic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. All nine North Coast squads will be in action this week as non-conference play continues over the Thanksgiving Holiday, including the first league game of the year when Hiram visits Oberlin on Tuesday.
