DPU's Howard Doubles Up On All-American Awards

DePauw junior guard Maya Howard (St. Louis, MO/MICDS) was named an honorable-mention All-American by both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and D3hoops.com in the past week.

The 2017-18 NCAC Player of the Year led the Tigers with 15.2 points, 4.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game. She also shot 38.8 percent from beyond the three-point arc and 85.5 percent from the free throw line. 

A three-time all-NCAC player, including first-team selections in 2017 and 2018, Howard was also named the D3hoops.com Great Lakes Region Newcomer of the Year in 2016.

DePauw finished the season with a 25-3 overall mark and a sixth NCAC title in seven seasons in the conference with a 16-0 league record. The Tigers earned the program's 19th overall NCAA Division III tournament appearance and hold the nation's second-longest streak of appearances at 15.
