Allegheny freshman Erica Restich posted a career-high 24 points in the Gators’ 65-46 win over Wooster and notched her third-career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Kenyon.  Restich has led Allegheny in the final three weeks of the season, scoring in double figures in each of the last seven games.

Wooster sophomore post Jessica Wingen combined for 25 points and 20 rebounds in her team’s 1-1 week. Her performance was highlighted by a 19-point, eight-rebound effort in the Fighting Scots’ first conference win of the season at Oberlin, 66-57, in overtime. Overall, Wingen shot 8-for-19 from the field and made 9-of-10 free throws. She also had three blocked shots, running her season total to 41, second-best in the NCAC.

Denison senior Shaina Kaiser registered a 20-point, seven-rebound, six-assist and four-steal performance in a win over Oberlin and followed it up with 18 points and seven rebounds in a road victory against Wooster last week.  Kaiser has helped Denison climb to its highest ranking ever in the WBCA/USA Today Top-25 coaches poll at No. 9 in last weeks’ poll.

Oberlin sophomore Allison Anderson tallied a game-high 25 points to help the Yeowomen knock off Wittenberg, 67-64, for the first time in 11 years.  Anderson helped seal the victory with a pair of clutch free throws with just under two minutes remaining in the contest.

Hiram junior Tiffany Shields scored a game-high 24 points in the Terriers’ 68-59 victory over Kenyon.  On the week, Shields averaged 18.0 points and 7.5 rebounds, while shooting 45 percent (13-of-29) from the field.  Through the first 17 games of the season, she leads the Terriers and is ninth in the conference in scoring, averaging 14.9 points per game.
January 16th

Wittenberg freshman Jaclyn Willoughby set the second-highest single-season scoring mark in Wittenberg history and the highest output ever by a freshman, tallying 33 points in a 74-65 come-from-behind victory over Kenyon on Saturday.  She also set the school record for points in a single half, as she propelled the Tigers by scoring 27 of her 33 points in the second half against the Ladies.  On the week, she shot 72 percent (13-of-18) from the field and 71 percent (5-of-7) from three-point range, and also added seven assists (3.5 apg).
January 9th

Kelly Warlich, Oberlin

Oberlin sophomore Kelly Warlich had a career day in a 60-45 victory over Kalamazoo, scoring 23 points on 5-of-6 shooting from three-point range.  She also led the team with 13 points against Wittenberg and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds against Wooster.  Warlich and the Yeowomen are off to their best start since finishing the 2006-07 season with an overall record of 7-19.

Denison senior Shaina Kaiser totaled 35 points and 11 rebounds as the Big Red won twice in the Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach, Florida. She shot 13-for-30 from the field and 8-for-9 from the free throw line, and recorded six assists and five steals as DU topped York, 58-31, and Susquehanna, 67-53.  In the victory over York, Kaiser moved into fifth place on the Denison all-time assists list.

Kenyon junior Morgan Korinek posted her third double-double of the season as the Ladies handed Waynesburg just its second loss of the season, 64-52.  Korinek was 7-of-14 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free throw line.  She finished the game with season-highs in both points (22) and rebounds (12).

Ohio Wesleyan senior Pam Quigney matched her career-high with 32 points in the Battling Bishops’ 88-78 victory over Wooster.  On the week, Quigney averaged 25.5 points per game and shot 65 percent (22-of-34) from the field.  She also pulled down nine rebounds, dished out seven assists and collected two steals in 69 total minutes.

Allegheny senior Jill Gregory turned in three 20-plus point performances last week, including posting a career-high 24 in an 88-82 loss against John Carroll.  In the Gators 81-78 victory over Wittenberg, Gregory scored a game-high 22 points and secured 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.  She also posted a 20-point effort in Allegheny’s 70-68 win over Pitt.-Bradford on Monday.

Jess Cowan, Hiram

Hiram senior Jess Cowan scored a career-high 25 points in the Terriers 67-64 overtime victory over Westminster.  She also added a 21-point effort in Hiram’s six-point victory over PSU-Behrend on Sunday.  In addition, the senior shot 16-of-32 (.500) from the field and pulled down 18 rebounds (9.0 rpg) on the week.

November 22nd


Sarah Watson, Wittenberg

Wittenberg junior post Sarah Watson claimed MVP honors at the Adrian Tip-Off. She totaled 43 points and 21 rebounds on the weekend, including 26 points and 12 boards in the championship game. The Tigers won the tournament by defeating Fontbonne, 70-51, in the first round, and topping North Park, 70-64, in the championship. In Wittenberg’s 2-1 week, which included a 70-52 loss to Baldwin-Wallace, Watson scored 53 points and pulled down 31 rebounds.
