Led by six first-team selections, 11 total women's lacrosse players from the NCAC were named to the 2018 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Great Lakes Region Team, it was announced by the organization on May 17th.
The six league players named to the first team included the Allegheny senior duo of defender Brie Freeman (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) and attack Shelby Piper (Littleton, CO/Chatfield), the Denison trio of senior midfielder Leah Israel (Bloomfield Hills, MI/Cranbrook Kingswood), junior defender Jane Goodspeed (East Grand Rapids, MI/East) and sophomore attack Kiely Noonan (Wellesley, MA/Wellesley), along with Oberlin senior attack Natalie Rauchle (Edina, MN/Edina).
The five second-team honorees included Allegheny sophomore midfielder Emily Kraus (Sewickley, PA/Quaker Valley), Denison senior defender Grace Gavula (Glenview, IL/Loyola Academy), the Kenyon duo of junior attack Cassie Hudson-Heck (Medina, OH/Medina) and sophomore midfielder Maggie Grabowski (Park Ridge, IL/Maine), and finally Wooster junior midfielder Megan Healy (Ottawa Hills, OH/Ottawa Hills).
The IWLCA has honored 256 student-athletes in Division III with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2018. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will celebrate the 2018 All-Americans during Divisional All-American Announcement Shows, which will be launched online in mid-June.
