Francesca Kern, Oberlin (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) First-year Francesca Kern notched her first collegiate victories in singles play, helping the Yeowomen knock off OAC foes Baldwin Wallace and Otterbein. Kern was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at No. 3 singles over the Yellow Jackets’ Kathleen Moser and was a 6-0, 6-3 victor over the Cardinals’ Makayla Sutter. She and fellow rookie Rebecca Shiloff paired up at No. 2 doubles to win 8-0 vs. Baldwin Wallace before gutting out an 8-7 (7-3) victory over Otterbein’s Jordyn Traxler and Marriella Briones to cap off a perfect 4-0 day for the Yeowomen rookie. |
