2013 All-NCAC Volleyball Team

Wittenberg senior Andrea Behling (Columbus, IN/North) has been named the Player of the Year to highlight the 2013 All-North Coast Athletic Conference volleyball selections.

Behling {right}, who was also an All-NCAC honorable-mention selection a year ago, was a threat both offensively and defensively in leading the Tigers to their eighth straight NCAC title and 19th all time with a perfect 8-0 record against league foes this fall. In 100 sets played this season, Behling has totaled 300 kills (3.00 per set), 129 digs (1.29 per set), 39 blocks (0.39 per set), 23 set assists and 20 service aces. Following the Tigers’ 3-0 victory over Hiram in the 2013 NCAC Tournament championship game, Behling will now lead the Wittenberg into the NCAA Division III Tournament for the 18th year in a row and 19th appearance all time. The brackets for the national tournament will be announced on Monday, Nov. 11.

DePauw sophomore setter Faith Rolwes (Chesterfield, MO/Villa Duchesne) and Wittenberg sophomore right-side hitter Kara Seidenstricker (London, OH/Jonathan Alder) are the only two players to repeat as first-team selections from a year ago. Denison junior setter Emily Marguerite (Wilmette, IL/New Trier) elevated to the first team after earning second-team laurels in 2012, while Hiram freshman Outside hitter Marissa Jay (Padua, OH/Padua Franciscan) and Wittenberg junior setter Meghan Vodopich (Canton, OH/Massillon Perry) make their All-NCAC debut on the first team.

In addition, Jay {bottom left} was named the 2013 Newcomer of the Year after leading Hiram on the season with 428 kills and a .255 hitting percentage, while Marguerite {bottom right} garnered Libero of the Year honors after racking up 718 digs in 103 sets for an average of 6.97 digs per set.

Wittenberg head coach Paco Labrador {left} was voted the NCAC Coach of the Year for the fifth time in his career. He guided the Tigers to their eighth-straight NCAC volleyball title this fall after compiling a perfect 8-0 record against league foes. In 11 season’s at the helm of the Tiger volleyball program, Labrador has compiled an overall record of 346-54, including an impressive mark of 130-2 against NCAC teams in regular season matches.
