The win earned sixth-ranked Wittenberg a national quarterfinal matchup with 18th-ranked Clarkson on Thursday, Nov. 19, at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Wittenberg will enter the quarterfinals as the highest ranked team remaining in the field. The winner of the Tigers' match against Clarkson, which advanced with wins over Colby-Sawyer, Ithaca and Springfield in its regional tournament, will face the winner of a match between Hendrix and Bethel (Minn.). The other side of the bracket includes Carthage and Randolph-Macon in one quarterfinal and Cal Lutheran against Bowdoin in the other.

The last time Wittenberg advanced to the national quarterfinals, the Tigers won the national championship in 2011. That year, Wittenberg upset then-No. 1 ranked Calvin on the Knights' home floor, and the Tigers followed that with 3-0 victories over Cal Lutheran, Eastern (Pa.), and Christopher Newport in matches played at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
