Fischer & Cox Lead AVCA All-American Selections

2016 AVCA All-America Team

Wittenberg junior outside hitter Maggie Fischer (Minerva, OH/Minerva) was a first-team selection and Wittenberg freshman middle blocker Aubrey Cox (Tips City, OH/Tippecanoe) was named the Division III National Freshman of the Year to lead the list of NCAC student-athletes named to the 2016 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Team.

Fischer is now the sixth player in Wittenberg history to earn AVCA first-team All-American honors, while Cox is the second Wittenberg player in the last five years to earn the AVCA Division III National Player of the Year honor after recent graduate Kara Seidenstricker collected the award in 2011.

In addition, Cox was joined on the 2016 AVAC Honorable Mention All-American Team by Ohio Wesleyan junior outside hitter Iris Anderson (Elk Grove, CA/Christian Brothers).
