The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released the 2018 Division III All-Region Teams on November 9 and six student-athletes represented the North Coast Athletic Conference on the All-Great Lakes Region Teams.
Five of the six student-athletes were named to the All-Great Lakes Region first team, including DePauw senior outside hitter Suzanne Peters (Fort Wayne, IN/Homestead) and Wittenberg junior middle blocker Aubrey Cox (Tips City, OH/Tippecanoe), senior middle blocker Kennedey Schmidt (Englewood, Ohio/Northmont), senior setter Karen Wildemann (Columbus, IN/North) and junior libero Taylor Yontz (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee). DePauw junior right side Morgan Stearley (Center Point, IN/Northview) was named to the honorable mention team.
This is the third year that Cox and Wildemann have been selected, as the middle blocker was an honorable mention selection a season ago and a first-team honoree in 2016, while the setter was a first-team selection last season and named to the honorable mention team in 2016. Peters makes her second-consecutive appearance after claiming first-team honors in 2017.
