2008 NCAC Players of the Week

November 2
Hiram senior outside hitter Sarah Schoenhagen (Cleveland Hts., OH/Gilmour) smashed 43 kills, hit .324 and made 11 block assists in the 13 sets as the Terriers defeated Allegheny and Oberlin, both by 3-1 scores, and knocked off non-conference opponent Case, 3-2 to finish the regular season at 18-17.
October 26
Denison freshman Megan Early (Findlay, OH/Van Buren) led the Big Red to a 3-0 week with 21 kills. She posted a .347 attack percentage and also had a team-best nine solo blocks as Denison defeated Earlham, Kenyon and Ohio Wesleyan to improve to 6-7 in the North Coast.
October 19
Oberlin freshman outside hitter Anna Frackman (Madison, WI/West) totaled 35 kills and averaged 3.89 kills per game as the Yeowomen won twice in conference play. She also had 13 digs, three service aces and a block. Oberlin has five victories in conference play, the most since the 1992 Yeowomen went 6-5. Oberlin swept its two conference opponents, defeating both Kenyon and Earlham, 3-0, then losing to Wittenberg, also by a 3-0 count.
October 12
Junior outside hitter Caitlin Solan (Acme, PA/Geibel) totaled 19 kills, 40 digs, three blocks and three aces during the week as Allegheny won both of its conference matches last week. The Gators defeated Oberlin, 3-1, and Ohio Wesleyan, 3-0 and are tied for second place with a 7-2 NCAC record. The team's 11 wins already equals the total number of wins Allegheny accumulated in each of the past two seasons.
October 7
Sophomore Alexa Bean (Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) totaled 31 kills, 31 digs, four assists, four solo blocks and one block assist in Ohio Wesleyan’s 3-0 week. All three victories came in conference play. The Battling Bishops posted 3-0 wins over Kenyon and Oberlin and scored a 3-1 decision over Denison to up their season mark to 5-13 overall, 3-2 in the NCAC.
September 28
Wooster senior Ali Drushal (Lakeville, OH/West Holmes) became the NCAC's all-time leader in digs to surpass Wittenberg's Emilie Schmid, who accumulated 2,690 from 2001-04, while leading the Scots to a 3-1 week. Drushal, who now has 2,749 digs, broke the mark during a five-set win over Allegheny, tallying a season-high 45 in the contest. For the week, she totaled 97 digs, six service aces, five assists and one kill.
September 21
Hiram freshman setter Taylor Summerfield (Warren, OH/Howland) smashed 16 kills with a .424 hitting percentage, in addition to posting 54 assists, two service aces and 14 digs. The Terriers went 2-0 last week, with a 3-2 win over Wooster and a 3-1 decision over Defiance.
September 13
 
Earlham junior middle blocker Keeley McAnnis-Entenman (Portland, OR/Grant) smashed 21 kills, seven aces and made eight blocks in two matches. The Quakers won their first match of the season, in straight sets over Eureka, and lost to Greenville in five.
September 7
  Wooster junior hitter KateLynn Riley (Westlake, OH/Westlake) led the Fighting Scot offense at the Marcia French Memorial, hosted by Baldwin-Wallace. She recorded 67 kills, with a .419 hitting percentage and eight blocks.
