Wabash Men Lead NCAC Runners At National Meet

NCAC cross country runners concluded the 2015 season at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 21st, at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin.

The Wabash men's team posted its fourth top-10 finish overall and its best finish since 1995 at the national meet in eighth place overall with 292 points, while the Allegheny men's team finished 26th overall with 561 points. In addition, the Allegheny women's team finished 31 overall in the final team standings with 759 points. 

The Little Giants' top-10 team finish was accomplished thanks in part to senior Adam Togami (New Albany, IN/New Albany) and sophomore Colin Rinne (Westfield, IN/Westfield) finishing 51st and 52nd, respectively, with times of 25:11.2 and 25:11.8. 

A trio of NCAC men's runners collected All-America accolades with top-35 finishes, led by Oberlin senior Geno Arthur (Camarillo, CA/Rio Mesa) in 22nd place with an 8K time of 24:47.7. Also posting All-America performances were the Allegheny duo of senior Logan Steiner (Meadville, PA/North Allegheny) and junior Dan Cheung (Northbrook, IL/Glenbrook North) in 32nd (24:58.4) and 33rd (24:58.5), respectively. 

Three additional NCAC student-athletes competed as individuals in the men's race, led by Ohio Wesleyan sophomore John Sotos (Dublin, OH/Coffman) finishing 73rd in 25:22.4. Ohio Wesleyan senior Zach Geiger (New Concord, OH/John Glenn) crossed the line in 152nd (25:46.9) and DePauw freshman Paul Christian (Glen Ellyn, IL/Glenbard West) checked in at 171st (25:54.2). 

In the women's 6K race, Ohio Wesleyan junior Sarah Fowler (Mt. Vernon, OH/Fredericktown) collected All-America honors after finishing 24th overall with a time of 21:41.4. Allegheny, which competed as a team at the national championships for the first time since 2007, got its top performance from junior Monica Patrick (Salem, OH/South Range) in 115th place with a time of 22:25.4. 

In addition, DePauw junior Claudia Monnett (Cloverdale, IN/Cloverdale) competed as an individual for the Tigers and finished in 102nd with a time of 22:22.1.
