There was minimal action the North Coast cross circuit last weekend as just Denison and Wittenberg were in action on Saturday at the Rose-Hulman Pre-Regional Invitational. All nine league squads will return to action this weekend, led by the six Ohio-based schools traveling to Cedarville for the annual All-Ohio Championships.
DENISON and WITTENBERG joined six non-conference schools on Saturday in Terre Haute, Indiana, for the Rose-Hulman Pre-Regional Invitational. In the final women’s standings, Denison finished third with 74 points and Wittenberg checked in at sixth with 162 points. Lansing CC won the team championship with 45 total points. Individually, Denison senior Emily Lamm (Pittsburgh, PA/Shady Side Acad.) broke the tape in the women’s 6K race with a time of 22:53.9, which was 15 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. In addition, DU freshman Anna Fash (Wooster, OH/Wooster) and senior Kate Benson (Bemus Point, NY/Maple Grove) also logged top-10 finishes in fifth (23:25.0) and sixth (23:25.9), respectively, while junior Erin Hord (Madison, OH/Madison) posted Wittenberg’s best effort in 19th with a time of 24:53. Mount Union collected the men’s team title with 33 points, while Denison finished fourth with 110 points and Wittenberg was sixth with 141. Wittenberg junior Jon Osman (Troy, OH/Troy) led the pack of NCAC runners by finishing fourth overall with a personal-best 8K time of 26:54, while DU’s top effort went to senior Sam Beech (Bexley, OH/Bexley) who finished 15th with a time of 27:32.3. UMU’s Alex Wilson won the individual title with a time of 26:22.
