Oberlin junior face-off specialist Evan Sardina dominated at the X in a 1-1 week for the Yeomen, controlling possession in both contests. Sardina went an impressive 44-of-49 on face-offs, including a near-perfect 21-of-22 performance with 18 ground balls in a tough 12-11 loss to Wooster. He followed with another standout effort in a 13-12 victory over Denison, winning 23-of-27 face-offs while collecting 17 ground balls. Sardina’s performance was pivotal in Oberlin’s historic win over the Big Red, the program's first victory in the series since 1960 to snap a 63-game losing streak.
