Oberlin junior Erik Fendorf helped the Yeomen win the Malone Invitational as he was a part of five school records over three-day meet. In the 200 freestyle relay, Fendorf’s leadoff split of 20.79 set the school record in the 50 free while the unit's winning time of 1:24.89 also erased the previous school record that stood since 1994. The junior reset his own school record in the 100 butterfly with a winning time of 49.46. The Stanford, California, native swam third on the 200 medley relay that won in a school-record time of 1:32.01. The final record-breaking performance came with Fendorf swimming the third leg in the 400 medley relay, as the quartet clocked in with a winning time of 3:24.61. Fendorf nearly had another school record in the 100 free, taking second in 45.99, which was 0.05 off the mark. He also took second in the 50 free (20.94).
