Wabash senior attackman Quinn Fitzgerald led the Little Giants to a 17-12 season-opening win at Hanover on Saturday, tallying four goals, three assists, and seven points. Fitzgerald’s first goal came on a power play to give Wabash a 5-3 lead, and he quickly added a second goal a minute later to extend the advantage to 6-3. The attackman then assisted on a score late in the second period to break a 6-6 tie. In the second half, he assisted on two other goals to extend Wabash’s lead to 9-6 and 11-8, respectively. The Indianapolis, Indiana native capped his performance with a fourth goal halfway through the final quarter (16-9). The senior converted on 4-of-6 shots on goal, scooped up five ground balls, and caused one turnover in the win.
