John Carroll graduate student guard Luke Chicone led the Blue Streaks to a 2-0 start after averaging 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 48 percent from the field. Chicone opened the week with a game-high 22 points to go along with seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block in a 100-96 win over Olivet. He followed with 19 points, seven boards, six assists, and two steals in a 103-88 victory at Heidelberg. For his efforts, the guard earned a selection to the All-Tournament Team at Heidelberg’s Ron Linhart Memorial Classic and helped guide JCU to its first back-to-back 100-point efforts to open a season since 2021-22. On the week, Chicone totaled 41 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists, four steals, and one block.
