Oberlin sophomore pitcher Matthew Ruttkay turned in a dominant outing on the mound to lead the Yeomen to a 5-0 conference victory over Wooster. Ruttkay earned the win after tossing 7.2 shutout innings, allowing just five hits while striking out six batters and issuing only one walk. He faced 28 hitters and held the Fighting Scots to a .185 batting average in the impressive performance. The outing marked Ruttkay’s first career shutout and improved his season record to 3-1.
